Name: Pauline Intia (Pauu)
Age: 19
Occupation: N/A (Nursing Student)
1. What Age did you start being so fond to fashion?
18
2. Do you follow a certain trend?
I prefer having my own style but most of the time, I really do check out fashion blogs for new trends and inspirations.
3. What are your standards on buying clothes?
First, if the price is right and within the range of my budget. Best ones matter if you can “purchase” it or not. Second, if it’s not the clothes that every girl in the metro owns because I want unique pieces. Third, if the material used for the clothing and its quality is worth my money. Last, if the clothing not only “looks good” but also “looks good on me”. And with that, I’ll give time to try it on, walk, sit, bend and ask questions such as “Do I move with it easily? Are the seams pulling? Do zippers, buttons, etc. all function properly?” If all are met, nothing beats the feeling of having good buys!

4. Is brand name important on the dress or clothes you wear?
Not at all because whenever shopping vibes call, especially if I’m on a budget and I’m not sure what style and colors I like, a good department store, boutiques and bazaars are less overwhelming and more helpful for me - shopping isn’t just about purchasing the branded ones, but about trying different things on and figuring out what works best. Though I really do take advantage of “SALE” periods of branded clothes.
5. What can you say about the latest fashion trend in the Philippines?
The lastest fashion trend in the Philippines are highly influenced by fashion bloggers. They blog about fashion, clothing and accessories and also include runway trends, celebrity fashion and street style from all over the metro and the world. They introduce new designer’s collection worldwide and they also popularize shops and boutiques where you can purchase such. Filipinos can have a quick view of fashion from all over the world because of social networking websites such as Lookbook and Chictopia and a lot more which means that it’s an interactive form of communication than traditional glossy magazines, reviews of collections and runway shows. I believe that the latest fashion trend came from the styles from couple of years ago but since diversity matters, they’re products of revised and modernized styles. Vintage and classy styles are never outdated.

6. What do you look for a semi formal dress?
For me, those are dresses wherein I won’t look too old but mature enough to look elegant. I want dresses that are simple, with not much of designs such as sequins and unnecessary stitches or prints. Simple dresses make it easy for me to make it look edgy by wearing avant-garde accessories and shoes.
7. Do you consider yourself “Fashionista”?
Fashionistas are followers of the fashion industry, they design/style and not just promote but create the latest trend. I really do love dressing up and taking photos of my outfits and post them on my blog and I’ve been having feedbacks from readers and they label me as that. Well whatever that may be, fashion for me is about ourselves and how we develop our own style.
8. What is your next fashion forward move?
SHOP & WEAR & BLOG! I would take notes on the looks I like from fashion blogs and online magazines and when it’s time to shop, I would reconstruct the looks piece by piece and eliminate pieces that wouldn’t work for me. I will definitely figure out what to spend and what to save on.
9. Any advice you want to share to those people wanting to be involved in fashion?
Take it easy and slowly step out of your comfort zone, experiment, explore and discover.

10. Are you willing to buy a modern/ in style semi formal dress worth P 1,500-P 5,000?
If I want to be the best and become the center of attention, I would definitely grab dresses worth of that or even more. There are events that are once in a lifetime especially all eyes will be on me, it would definitely be awesome to show what I paid for. BUT, yes there’s a but- Practically speaking, since I don’t work for my own allowance yet, attending to an event with that dress (though dresses worth 2k and below is okay, but no way to 5k) would be really off the hook. There are several places where I can purchase my semi formal dress cheaply without sacrificing quality and style. In fact, some of these are designer dresses, and are actually of a higher quality than other substantially more expensive items found in the average fashion store. I can look for discount stores for items on sale and even style my own dress and make it possible. I believe that I can look stunning and in style without even spending way too much. It’s not only seen in the dress though, I still have accessories and shoes to bring it all up –and it’s all in the way how I would wear and carry it around.
Winner of our Early Christmas giveaway in Multiply, Awesome Bargains is all about clothes, shoes, accessories personally handpicked by the owner. Want to know where? In her closet! Online Business without a capital, read more to find out how.
1. Kindly introduce yourself
My name is Pauu Intia, a 19 year old senior Nursing student from Makati Medical Center.
2. What is Awesome Bargains all about
It is all about the clothes/bags/accessories/etc from Misspauuparazzi. Clothes that are used not more than two-four times, either outgrown or a misfit or just plain result of compulsive buying.
3. Share with us how you did get this business idea and how did you get started
On top of it, I love clothes –dressing up and all that. I also love taking outfit photos and blog them HERE. I don’t actually like wearing the same type of clothing but sometimes, I do repeat themonly if there were no outfit photos beforehand, if I would wear it differently (you know what I mean, mix & match thingy) and if I would wear it on a different crowd. So ever since, the clothes that I already wore and won’t use anymore goes to the donation box. October 2010, it’s not that I got tired of just “giving” away my clothes –it’s just that the clothes that I won’t use anymore, are the clothes that I also love. I was kinda hoarding way back. So I realized that instead of just piling them up in my closet, I’d love to have a closet “replacement” rather than closet “clean-up” by selling them online, and using the money I earned to buy new clothes. Thanks to Multiply and viola, Awesomebargains was created.
4. Have you managed to attract customers ever since you started your business?
I think so, because I was a blogger first before I got into business so most of my clients are my blog readers and the like. I have sold out collections and items of mine reached all over the Philippines, literally from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. I used Multiply because it is now a wide group of online sellers/buyers from all over the metro. It actually helped me because I don’t sell my used clothes to friends whom I know personally (unless they insisted, but I’m actually not advertising my shop to them) It’s just that I really feel awkward seeing them wear my favourite clothes that I decided not to wear anymore LOL so I’d rather have strangers as clients plus the flattery is doubled, no strings attached.
5. What inspires the products/services/things that you sell on your site?
My clothes are usually imported from USA. I have a very generous grandmother who often sends us Balikbayan Boxes with new clothes, bags, shoes and accessories. Like I’ve said before on my blog, I have a pretty much shopaholic granma –she just don’t admit it LOL Anyway, so clothes that you can find here may not be seen on famous magazines because they aren’t from too expensive brands tho I’m sure that these clothes are fabulous and not ordinary enough (because you can’t find these exact items on malls here in the Philippines). You’re actually on the right track if you’re looking for gorgeous clothes that only you can have.
6. What are some of your products/services/things that you want our readers to look out for?
They should look out for items that are also found in my blog. They just have to wait until I have to get rid of those awesome stuff LOL Patience is a virtue as they always say!
7. What can shoppers expect from your store next year?
Marketing is such an unpredictable word nowadays but I can assure them that there would be more and more collections to come. There are more awesome things that I’d like to have, more shopping to come for me and it increases at the same time there is also a lot of stuff to let go too. Fashion is nothing more than diversity; it requires room to grow and mind to experiment. It’s a process that I’ve never had a regret on doing, instead of hoarding them all over my place, I’m giving my clients the chance to have the things I personally hand-picked and I’m sure they wouldn’t regret doing so as well.
8. Any advice for aspiring entrepreneurs?
Honestly, I’ve never seen myself as an entrepreneur before. I actually came across to starting a business without even spending for a capital. Free website shop hosting at multiply.com, clothes/bags and accessories from my room/closet for sale, reliable money transfer using GCash and non-hassle Xend Express shipping courier with free registrations. With all those, I’ve been able to earn a lot. To become an entrepreneur based on my experience, one should have a broad/ wide range of ideas –from the website itself, products and most of all the advertisement. Don’t start off with a business that you know would not give you any success, also don’t be contented on a mutual gain, remember that in this business, you have to earn. Not only the seller is happy of what she gained but make sure that the buyer also reached to the high satisfactory level. It also requires a lot of hard work, so be ready for long nights and hours of craziness, but what makes it all end is when you’re able to get what you deserve. In my case, SHOPPING MONEYYY!!! There’s nothing more than spending your own money rather than being a burden to parents for asking and asking money only for self gain. Remember that it requires not only a lot of risk but it would also demand your time and focus. It’s actually a fun thing to do especially when you love socializing with other people, you know what it is- Do the sales talk, and it never fails.
9. Where can readers buy your products?
Only at here http://awesomebargains.multiply.com. SERIOUSLY. And collections doesn’t come in regularly, so if there’s a new one, go grab yourself and get THE AWESOME BARGAIN.

ORIGINAL BLOG POST FROM: EVERYPIECEOFCLARICE
This tells the tale on how a 15-year old little girl entered the magical world of fashion.
Ever since I was young, fashion has always been a big deal for me, especially that my mom loves dress me up. As I grew up, I observed other people around me, and the group of people who would always get my attention are the people they call, Fashionistas.
We have different descriptions regarding the word, Fashionistas. For some, they are people who wear beautiful clothes and accessories. But, for me? They are those people who would commit themselves into Fashion and it’s their passion.
Internet has influenced people around the world, and it is the main reason why I want to commit myself with fashion as well and maybe want to call myself a real Fashionista.
Well, behind my curiosity and shall I say, obsession on “Fashion”, people in the internet inspired me a lot. Every single thing I want and hold on to right now is all because of them:
Known as Cheyser Pedregosa. She was actually the first fashion blogger I knew from the internet. I don’t know how my the internet led me to her wonderful blog. Well, I was curious and explored her blog. I was so amazed and shocked at the same time because I didn’t know these kind of fabulous people existed. I adore every single thing about her, her clothes, shoes, accessories, and more.
Known as Lauren Uy. Well, it’s always the same, something led me to her blog again. But, this time, I was two times shocked and amazed with this wonderful lady. First, I knew her because of the TV show, My Binondo Girl. Second, I saw her wearing a Single Feather Earring from MARiS which was an online shop in Facebook. Lastly, she was Liz Uy’s sister. She’s just wonderful, I love every detail she wears and I even go to the online shops where she buys her stuffs and have plans on buying the things she has as well.
Known as Misspauuparazzi. She’s wonderful. I have to repeat it once more, WONDERFUL. She’s fabulous. Her blog giveaway was actually the first EVER blog giveaway I joined. And unexpectedly, I was the second winner. She was the fashion blogger whom I adored so much for being so kind and sweet because she should respond politely with my tweets and SMS.
Actually, there are lots of them. But, they are the bloggers which inspired me the most. There’s no day which I won’t visit their blogs.
And so, why not create one yourself? By starting of with a blog and maybe, just maybe, be one of the people hyped in Lookbook. Well, I’m guessing, it’ll be a long way to go.
With love,
Clarice xx
Thank you so much for this blog post, I’m so touched ♥
Hey guys! as promised, I’ll be featuring awesome Nurses/Nursing students here on my blog. So.. for my first feature, she is aNURSING STUDENTblogging at MISSPAUUPARAZZI.tumblr.com read everything and be inspired.
1.TELL US SOMETHING ABOUT YOURSELF.
Ain’t really good with introductions so bear with me LOL Hi my name is Pauu, 19y/o. I’m a Senior Nursing Student from Makati Medical Center – College of Nursing. Currently one semester away from College Graduation YAY! But what makes me different to other Nursing Students, being an American Citizen in my case, I’ll be off to US right after graduation to review and take NCLEX right away so I have to double my efforts, concentrate and do what’s best for me. All of us really have to work hard, remember that “Nothing in life worth having comes easy”.
2. WHY DID YOU CHOOSE BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN NURSING?
I’ve been into this profession because it has been my childhood dream to become one of those successful health care practitioners competent enough to render care to those who are in need. No influences attached –but yeah I have RN Aunties abroad and they’re all very successful.
3. TELL US YOUR MOST UNFORGETABLE EXPERIENCE AS A NURSING STUDENT.
August 2011 we had our clinical duty at Cavinti, Laguna for 3 weeks/ 3 days a week. Nine days of intense isolation from the urban world. No gadgets and not much of electric devices. From that experience, I learned to be more independent and to deal with complete strangers that eventually became the people who treated us as part of their humble family. It’s not about just “teaching”, it’s about learning to live with them while improving their way of life.
4.WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE AREA IN THE HOSPITAL AND WHY?
Operating Room (MMC), it is where different cases come in every now and then. I like it because it’s where I can select and handle instruments to the surgeon needed for the operation while maintaining overall nursing care. Unlike the Emergency Room, O.R. procedures come with schedule and not the “ULTRA FAST CRITICAL THINKING EMERGENT SITUATIONS” LOL I still have to work on my semi “panic state” tho the E.R. is my next favourite area.
5.HOW DID NURSING HELPED YOU IN BECOMING WHO YOU ARE RIGHT NOW?
Nursing helped me to become morally upright, intellectually competent and service oriented. Just to witness the start of life (newborn) and the end of it (death), I realized how short life can possibly be. I can’t imagine myself from four years ago giving as this much importance to life. Health is Wealth as they always say, and I couldn’t agree more.
6. HOW DO YOU SEE YOURSELF 10 YEARS FROM NOW?
Misspauuparazzi as 29 years old? I can imagine myself as an expert Registered Nurse (Operating, Emergency or Military Nurse) serving in a certain International Health Care Institution by heart earning big ass $$$ having the time of my life with a happy family living in our dream house. Yeah that’s pretty much one of my long term goals LOL
7. ASIDE FROM BEING A STUDENT NURSE, WHAT ARE THE OTHER THINGS YOU LOVE TO DO?
I’m actually into sports, really. I play basketball and volleyball, count me in to some sassy cheerdancers from our batch too LOL screw that haha but srsly. My family and I love to eat as much as to travel (both local and international) And what goes with me every little time are just plain dressing up moments and bonding with my camera.
8. ANY ADVICE TO THOSE WHO WANT TO TAKE BS NURSING?
Practically speaking, I don’t really recommend them to apply for BSN due to the countless unemployed Registered Nurses all over the country. BUT regardless to that, if you really want to become a successful nurse someday, go for it. As much as they say that school doesn’t matter, let’s not deny because it really is! UP, UST, ADMU and DLSU graduates –they ring a bell to employers actually. On the other hand, just like me LOL keep your grades steady. Aim high, avoid failures and keep your records clean. Most of all, balance your IQ and EQ- they can either make or break your performance. You need those to be able to get a job. Don’t aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.
